Gap Funding

The “gap” is the difference between what a community wants in a development and what the private sector can afford to do, according to the Colorado Municipal League. This gap is generally between 15% and 30% of the development project.

Tax increment financing may be available to fund eligible construction and public improvements in an urban renewal area. For more information, contact us at 303-655-2155.

Tax Credits

Many of Brighton’s urban renewal areas are located in the Colorado Enterprise Zone, which offers tax credits for investments in equipment, rehabilitation of vacant buildings, job training, research and development and more. Visit ChooseColorado's overview page for Enterprise Zone Tax Credits for more information.
